# Stalin and the Turkish Crisis of the Cold War, 1945-1953

The sixteenth book, *Stalin and the Turkish Crisis of the Cold War, 1945-1953* by Jamil Hasanli, looks at the severe tensions that emerged between Moscow and Washington in the early period after World War II as a result of presumed Soviet expansionist designs vis-à-vis Turkey. Hasanli draws on a vast array of archival materials from the former Soviet Union to analyze Stalin’s motives and the near-confrontation that ensued with the Truman administration. The book has already earned laudatory reviews and was featured at a CWIHP symposium in February 2012.
